Strain gauges were also very valuable in designing the chassis. Here is old datalog from the std Atom 2 chassis with approx 400hp. Look at the front wheel weights under acceleration.....The short wheelbase, weight distribution, and suspension geometry results in under 15klg on each front wheel at 1G acceleration. Its under 30Klg much of the time. Massive understeer is the result.
By comparison this is a datalog from theJaydee Atom 600chassis with approx 530WHP at the time on full throttle. Look at the front wheel weights under acceleration.....By comparison there is about 80klgs on each front wheelat the same acceleration G force. Excellent and predictable steering and cornering grip under power is the result.
